Draper--rescued from Roicy in November 2006. He was very sick for a few months. Sine then, he has a home...here with us. His dad just couldn't let him go. Draper is being trained as a therapy dog to work with the community.
Abbey--rescued from Roicy in December 2006. Abbey is an amazing girl. She has been therapeutic to other dogs and was adopted by a family in need. Abbey Vance is happy and healthy in her new home! This particular cat was put to sleep. We were unable to save him in time. He did offer this amazing photo that reminds us just how much our time and effort mean. | It's puppy and kitten season.....our shelters and rescues are overrun. If you already have a pet, please be responsible and have your pet(s) spayed/neutered. If not---and you're looking---please adopt! In the Acadiana area, we have LACC that is local, affordable, and appreciates your adoptions. You can view more information and pics/info about their pets at www.lafayettela.gov/acplus/. We're here to help you help them. Thanks for visiting!! RSVP was designed as a resource for those involved in animal rescue. We are here to help you whether you volunteer, foster, transport or work administratively. We are working daily to find donations for our area volunteers. If you'd like to donate a gift, large or small, monetary or otherwise, please see the About Us page for more information. If you're looking to adopt a homeless pet, please see the Shelter Pet Lists. Each area shelter has a Petfinder scroll so you can see what's there in one spot! If you're a shelter/rescue/foster that could use some help, we have people in our community that want to help and need something to do. We would like to coordinate a program of volunteer services that parents can do with children. This could include interacting with the animals, feeding, bathing, etc. If you would like some help on a regular basis or would like to help coordinate this service, please contact Melissa at melissa@rsvpacadiana.org . We also serve as a FREE resource to help find suitable, happy homes for all animals. Additionally, we want to help the community find lost pets and a home for those in foster or rescue. This is a great alternative to a shelter. If you have a pet that you would like to place in a happy home, please view the Contact Us Page. We are actively searching for veterinary resources including: vaccinations, supplies, services and information. Most of our rescues are 501(c)3 and your contribution is tax-deductible. If you know of a resource for pet owners, animal lovers, volunteers, rescues, etc. Please contact Melissa at melissa@rsvpacadiana.org . We are all very grateful for those that continue to offer and provide support for our efforts. | Gloria Switch Road Veterinary Hospital
